In 1993, he won the prestigious Thelonious Monk competition and went on tour with Betty Carter. Melding under his fingers the inventions and colors of the greatest pianists of yesterday and today, he has created his own style, all subtlety, freshness, ease and the desire to reinvent, again and again.
