In purgatory, three former dictators await their fate. They keep themselves busy, unaware of their actions. Black humor and derision challenge us on the subject of dictatorships, our current situation, our humanity and our relationship with memory.

In an unspecified place reminiscent of purgatory, three former dictators wait and occupy their time, each in their own way. Adolf paints self-portraits, while Benito and Joseph play chess with pieces of the same color on both sides of the board. A 4th character pays them a visit. Who is this character? What's he doing among these 3 leaders? Based on historical facts, this darkly humorous and in some ways absurd play asks us about our humanity, our relationship with memory, and the different faces of dictatorship.
