Tour de France

The Tour de France, a legendary sporting event thrills cycling enthusiasts around the world every year. Although the route varies each year, Vaison Ventoux Provence has the honour of periodically hosting this legendary competition, offering cycling enthusiasts a unique experience in an exceptional setting.

The 2025 edition of the Tour de France looks forward to seeing you on Tuesday 22 July for a finish on Mont Ventoux!

Enthusiasm always on time!

In 2019, Vaison Ventoux Provence welcomed the Tour de France peloton with enthusiasm. The streets were flooded with a tide of waving flags and beaming smiles as the riders challenged the picturesque roads of our region.

In 2021, the riders faced the steep slopes of the Géant de Provence. The epic climb was one of the highlights of the Tour de France.

2025 marks the return of the Tour de France to the Vaucluse department with a finish at the summit of Mont Ventoux!

The Tour de France #2025

The Tour de France # 2025 will set off on 5 July from Lille Métropole for a finish on 27 July in Paris at the Champs Elysées. 3320km to be covered across France with 176 riders divided into 22 teams!

Step 16: Montpellier > Mont Ventoux

. Distance: 172 km
. Type:Mountain stage
This stage starts in Montpellier and crosses the departments of Hérault, Gard and Vaucluse before reaching the ascent of Mont Ventoux via its southern side, on the Bédoin side.

. Average gradient: 8.8%

The climb is renowned for its difficulty. The first few kilometres are demanding, with gradients approaching 10%. After Chalet Reynard, the landscape changes… the forest gives way to a breathtaking landscape where the viewpoints offer spectacular panoramas.

How to find us :

The roads leading to Mont Ventoux will probably be closed to motor traffic several hours before the runners pass. It is advisable to consider alternative means of transport, such as cycling or walking. Note that the areas around Chalet Reynard and the summit of Mont Ventoux are very busy.

Environment :

An emblematic and fragile natural site at the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional, Mont Ventoux and all the stages must be preserved. In order to preserve the unique biodiversity of the Géant de Provence, it is vital that spectators behave responsibly by respecting the areas and leaving the site clean.
