The epic story of the Maquis-Ventoux between 1942 and 1944, its birth, the clandestine life of volunteers, the problems, the solidarity of the inhabitants. Then betrayals and reprisals by the occupying forces. A memorable event.
"By Le TRAC
Text and staging by V. Siano".
A sheepfold at dawn, where young people have gathered to form the shadow army of the Vaucluse Resistance. Their voices rise up to recite a poem by René Char, the great poet and Resistance leader, then they recount and act out the epic story of the Maquis du Ventoux, between 1942 and 1944: its birth between Carpentras and Sault, the clandestine gathering of volunteers, the problems of supplies and weapons, the missions, the solidarity of the plateau's inhabitants. Then came the terrible year 44, with its betrayals and reprisals by the occupying forces: round-ups and executions. Two survivors bear witness to the massacre at Izon-la-Bruisse and the cleansing of Vaison.
