The Centre Dramatique des Villages invites you to discover Yoko et John, Chambre 1742, by the Théâtre en Pierres Dorées: a joyful, committed and vibrant musical show in performance mode, combining emotion, creativity and shared energy for all audiences.
In 1969, after their high-profile wedding and in a highly tense political climate, John Lennon and Yoko Ono decided to spend their honeymoon crusading for world peace. They first stayed in a hotel in Amsterdam, then in room 1742 of the Elisabeth Hotel in Montreal, for a bed-in.
In an attempt to change public opinion on the Vietnam War, racial violence, generational conflict and many other issues, John and Yoko decided to stay in bed for a whole week, inviting a host of celebrities, journalists, students, comedians, stars and photographers to debate these issues and share their ideas.
Beyond the words, this politically charged bed-in was also a moment of intense artistic creation, with the composition of songs, drawings and slogans, and a reflection on the artist's place in society.
A joyful, committed musical show in "performance" mode!
Written and directed by Benjamin Kerautret and Caroline Guisset
Acting: Vincent Arnaud, Amandine Blanquart, Damien Gouy, Paul Louvard, Charlotte Michelin
Make-up artist, hair stylist, dresser: Nathy Polak
Costumes: Madeline Cramard
