The ancient sites of Vaison-la-Romaine Back to the past guaranteed
Vaison-la-Romaine boasts an archaeological park recognized as the largest Gallo-Roman site in France, along with the ancient site of Puymin and the ancient site of La Villasse.
When you enter these sites, you are taken on a journey through the centuries. Each stone tells the fascinating story of past civilizations.
At the heart of the sites, you can visit the ancient theater, where shows and concerts still take place today. As you sit on the bleachers, you can only imagine the grandeur of the ancient shows.
The Théo Desplans Museum is packed with eloquent artifacts and sculptures, including marble statues. As you wander through its rooms, you’ll be immersed in the daily life of the Gallo-Romans through a multitude of fascinating objects. From kitchen utensils and craft tools to domestic decorations, each room offers a poignant testimony to daily life in those distant times.

- February, November, December: open daily, 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm
- March and October: open daily from 10am to 12:30pm and from 2pm to 5:30pm
- April to September: open daily non-stop from 9:30 am to 6 pm
- Ticket information
- The PASS ticket is valid for 24 hours for both sites, the ancient theater and the archaeological museum.
- Tickets can be collected from the ticket office at the entrance to the Puymin site, next to the Tourist Office.

- Guided tours are organized during school vacations.
- Outside school holidays, please contact the Heritage Department.
- Audioguides are available in French, English, German and Dutch inside the museum, for an additional €2 on top of the ticket price.
- Visiting sites with your dog
- Dogs are not allowed in the ancient sites or in the archaeological museum, with the exception of guide and assistance dogs.
- Small dogs are allowed in the sites only if carried in a bag or in the arms, but are not allowed inside the museum.
