This feature-length film traces the artistic evolution of American choreographer Merce Cunningham, from his early years as a dancer in post-war New York to his emergence as a visionary creator.
Shot in 3D with the company's last dancers, the film features 14 of the main ballets from a career spanning 70 years and including 180 creations. "Cunningham" is a powerful tribute, through never-before-seen archives, to the man who revolutionized dance, as well as to his many collaborators, in particular visual artist Robert Rauschenberg and musician John Cage.
