Description
The “De Brassens à la Nouvelle Scène” festival invites you to a concert featuring Michel Avallone. The opening act will be the brothers Fred Dubost and Paul Duchemin.
Opening act by the DU brothers
Fred Dubost and Paul Duchemin have known each other since they were eleven years old. For thirty years, they have shared the stage in various groups, performing everything from French chansons to original compositions. After a debut recital dedicated to Brel in 2013 and two albums recorded with Simon Polaris, they’re back today with their duo “Les Frères Du” to revisit the great classics of the “Grand Jacques,” as well as a few lesser-known songs.
Michel Avallone: A TRIO FOR BRASSENS
Brassens as you may never have heard him before! Michel Avallone on guitar, Stéphanie Meyer-Zikri on cello, and Dorine
Duchez on accordion invite Brassens on a musical journey full of depth and surprises. The guitar sets the tone, staying true to the master’s spirit; the cello reveals the songs’ tenderness, depth, and at times, gravity; the accordion weaves in hints of folk dances, celebrations, or gentle melancholy.
Far from simply copying the original versions, this trio creates new settings for songs we think we know by heart. The arrangements
are bold, breathe life into the music, and shift its hues, without ever losing sight of what matters most: the humor, the musicality of the words, and Brassens’s incomparable poetry.
A free-spirited, elegant, and generous tribute, to be savored with your ears… and a smile!
