Description
With *Va voir à Naples si j’y suis*, Pierre-Emmanuel Roubet invites the audience to experience a musical based on a script by Dorian Astor and directed by Patrick Abejean.
Shaken by a profound artistic crisis, an opera singer leaves everything behind for a journey across Italy, in search of his cultural roots… and his grandfather’s dark secret. He heads to Naples, makes a stop in Venice, and finds himself on a journey—amid opera arias and folk songs—to discover himself. A poetic performance where the personal meets the universal. A journey of self-discovery—both funny and deeply moving—that reveals why music can be stronger than anything else.
Pierre-Emmanuel Roubet, who began as a classical pianist and then a jazz pianist at the conservatories in Agen and Toulouse, and before becoming an accordionist in numerous world music projects, began studying opera singing in 2009 with Jane Berbié and then Didier Laclau-Barrère, and currently works with Christian Papis.
