Description
The Hadrien 2000 theater company invites you to discover excerpts from Mathias Énard’s *Désir pour Désir*, an immersive journey into 18th-century Venice, filled with music, passion, and masquerades.
We wander through Venice in 1750, during Carnival, when artists, poets, painters, engravers, and musicians cross paths at every turn. At the Ospedale della Pietà, young orphaned or destitute women devote their lives to music, performing at prestigious concerts where they can be heard but not seen.
Amid a tangle of multifaceted and intense passions, the painful symphony of romantic upheavals plays out once again, behind masks, in the sublime and cruel Serenissima.
