Recognised in 2016 as a Cru des Côtes du Rhône, Cairanne’s red and white wines are distinguished by a beautiful combination of complexity and finesse, and they are very elegant. The grapes for Cru Cairanne are harvested entirely by hand!
The vineyard separates two valleys: the Aygues and the Ouvèze, and three main areas characterise this terroir:

Vin Metre Cube CairanneThe red wines are mainly composed of Grenache and complemented by Syrah and/or Mourvèdre.
The white wines are blended mainly with Clairette, Grenache blanc and Roussanne.
White wine production is minimal but they are so exceptional that you absolutely must discover the white wines of this appellation!
The winegrowers, who care about the terroir, are carrying out some great projects:
To name just a few:“Je plante mon arbre à Cairanne” where 1,000 trees will be planted by 2025 by the winegrowers near their plots. Numerous chickadee nest boxes and bat shelters are also being installed to preserve and enhance biodiversity. Concrete actions such as planting local species, protecting woodlands, planting plant cover, etc. are in line with the Cru Cairanne landscape and environmental charter.

For example, with the creation of “Vin Mètre Cube” evenings in the heart of the vineyards! Festive and convivial, these evenings organised in July provide an opportunity to meet the appellation’s winegrowers in a superb atmosphere with the sumptuous landscapes and sunset as a backdrop! And to make it even more of a surprise, the exact location of each evening is revealed at the last minute!
In the heart of the Old Village, the Fête du Vin celebrated on the last Sunday in July brings together estates and houses to honour the appellation! Strolling along the ramparts, you can take in the sumptuous views while tasting the red and white vintages of the winemakers.
A festive, family-friendly atmosphere between sharing and conviviality while enjoying the sunset over the Rhône Valley. The festivities continue with a musical and festive atmosphere and various food trucks to treat your straws.

Drone showTo celebrate this half-century of wine festivals, the Cairanne AOC is seeing things through… and in lights!
On the occasion of this emblematic festival, an exceptional event will sublimate the evening of Sunday 27 July with a nocturnal drone show. The Provencal skies of Cairanne in Vaison Ventoux Provence will light up during this ballet that is at once magical, poetic and modern!
From the heights of the village, let yourself be carried away by a unique visual and emotional experience, where the history, passion for wine and the magic of the place are outlined in the sky. An enchanted interlude to be experienced with family or friends, with your eyes turned towards the stars.
