The Puyméras vineyard spreads its land over five communes: Faucon, Puyméras and Saint-Romain-en-Viennois in the Vaucluse as well as Mérindol-les-Oliviers and Mollans-sur-Ouvèze at the gateway to Drôme Provençale. Established in 2005 as the Côtes du Rhône Villages Puyméras appellation, this AOC is for red wines only!

Composition of the terroir

The vineyard anchored in very hilly land varies in altitude from 220 to 600m. The terroir is complex and contrasting, reflecting its relief.

The oldest, the bedrock belongs Miocene with blue marl and saffre.

The Quaternary period left a significant imprint on the landscape and the terroir consists of a mixture of sand and limestone fragments. Mostly farmed in this area, the soils give the wines freshness and aromas of red fruits and spices.

One colour, a thousand shades

The appellation produces only one colour, exclusively red wines. Produced mainly from a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, the wines are balanced, generous and endowed with a lovely freshness.

Tasting this appellation seduces with pretty, deep colours where the nose expresses notes of red and black fruit and the palate is both full and silky and quite lively.
