Discover AOC Côtes du Rhône Villages Sablet

At the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, Sablet rises like a typically Provencal jewel box of charm. This perched village, surrounded by ramparts and dominated by its church, has for centuries cultivated an art of living focused on the land, conviviality… and wine.

Sophie

Sophie is an epicurean. She was born in the heart of the vineyards, hence her love of wine and good things. If you're looking to discover Vaison Ventoux Provence and its little secrets, she's the one to turn to!

A fine appellation

Composition of the terroir

Bathed in light and caressed by the Mistral, the Sablet terroir gives rise to wines that are sincere, fresh, balanced and full of character.

  • The Alluvium: Raised from deposits brought down over the centuries by the Ouvèze river, this rich soil blends rolled pebbles, gravel, sand and silt. They form vast fertile terraces where the vines take deep root, nourished by geological history.
  • Sands and Safres: These light soils, emblematic of the Sablet landscape, are derived from Tertiary formations. They have given their name to the village and offer vines a soft, filtering environment, ideal for producing wines of great finesse.
  • Argill and limestone: From the Jurassic and Cretaceous eras, these ancient soils cradled by the sun, were born of the slow sedimentation and geological uplift that gave rise to the Dentelles de Montmirail.

Elegance in three colours

Each glass is an invitation to explore the relief, light and diversity of Sablet’s soils. Red wines full of charm and character: they seduce with their freshness and bright aromas of red fruits and sweet spices. With time, they gain in depth and reveal a more generous palette, marked by notes of ripe black fruit, jam, dried fruit…

Whites that play both ways: some are round, full-bodied, with aromas of white fruit, subtly enhanced by notes of vanilla or toast. Others express a delicate aromatic freshness, between eucalyptus and lime blossom depending on the grape varieties used. And rosés of character and pleasure: they reveal a beautiful body, both fresh, fleshy and intensely aromatic between tart red berries, white peach and subtle hints of spice.

The House of Wine and Tourism

Located on the outskirts of the village towards the Dentelles de Montmirail, the Point Info & Maison des Vins opens its doors to you all year round to help you discover the vintages of the Côtes du Rhône Villages Sablet appellation. You’ll find personalised advice for your tastings, ideas for walks around the vineyards and help organising your stay in the heart of Vaison Ventoux Provence.
This space, dedicated to the encounter between wine, heritage and the art of living, also offers wine tourism events throughout the year. A great way to immerse yourself in the friendly and generous world of the vignerons de Sablet!

The abuse of happiness is recommended

Every summer in July, Sablet transforms itself into an open-air stage, for a festive and convivial evening dedicated to wine, gastronomy and the pleasure of being together. The place in the village, covered in sand for the occasion, becomes the stage for a unique moment where we taste the vintages of the winemakers, in direct exchange with those who bring them to life.

Around the stands, carefully selected food-trucks awaken the taste buds, while the evening continues with music. An invitation to (re)discover the wines of AOC Côtes du Rhône Villages Sablet, in an authentic setting, under the stars on a balmy summer’s night…
