Description
From June 24 to August 22 at Grignan Castle, experience the thrill of Molière's The School for Wives, directed by Robin Renucci. This 39th edition coincides with a historic moment: the 400th anniversary of Madame de Sévigné's birth.
For this 39th edition of the Fêtes nocturnes, the Département has entrusted the creation to Robin Renucci, director of La Criée, Marseille's national theater. A committed actor and director, deeply attached to the transmission and service of texts, he will take over the château with Molière's L'École des femmes. A timely work, it focuses on the status of women in the century of the Marquise, who herself embodied this spirit of freedom and female emancipation through her writings and thoughts.
Robin Renucci's artistic project opts for a language that is fully embraced, faithful to the power of classical verse, while seeking to speak directly to today's audience. Set in the majestic architecture of the château, the staging exploits the perspectives, heights and mineral force of the site to create a tension between confinement and openness, authority and desire, social order and the vitality of youth.
To ensure the best possible reception, people with reduced mobility are invited to contact the Fêtes nocturnes ticket office before reserving their seats.
