Katarina Pejak - Festival Parfum de Jazz

A rising blues star with a smooth voice, Katerina hails from Serbia. Classically trained, she began playing the blues and interpreting songs she liked. She says: "Growing up in Serbia, I was very influenced by blues and roots music. At home, we listened a lot to these musical styles, thanks in particular to my father, who has a huge collection of blues albums. Then, thanks to the blues, I became interested in jazz. Her music is a mix of styles, combining blues, jazz, roots, country and soul, which fits in well with jazz. Her album Pearls on a string was released in 2024, on the German label Ruf Records. It was recorded in France and includes twelve tracks: ten are her compositions and the other two are covers. It's a mix of jazz and blues, with a natural acoustic sound, around her voice and piano. The songs are about her life experience, including her past, and her move to France in 2022.
