Thierry Luang Rath organizes a two-day workshop at the Station Galerie to learn the technique of 'repoussé decoration on the bowl'.
(Open to novices and professional ceramists).
Reservations required.

On the program:

Over the two days, participants will learn the repoussé clay technique on bowls turned by the instructor. Each participant will have 4 350g bowls, maintained at the ideal consistency, i.e. one bowl to work with per half-day, and a tool kit at their disposal.

1st morning: the bowl with scale motifs.
1st afternoon: the hexagon bowl.
These two bowls will be offered in different versions. Each participant will be free to choose one or more versions of the motifs on the same piece.

2nd morning: the Bowl on a grid base
As on the first day, several versions will be proposed (diagonals, verticals, etc.).
2nd afternoon: the floral bowl. (Unlike the other three, this bowl does not feature geometry).

Other motifs not covered by the trainees will be demonstrated. The four bowls will present multiple relief readings of the non-embossed areas. At the end of the course, participants can keep their own work, and the host workshop will offer the first firing (cookie) included in the course.
