The vineyard is owned by the Raynaud family and covers 40 ha. It all began in 1890, when the family's forebears both raised livestock and worked in the olive groves and vineyards. At the beginning of the 20th century, great-grandfather Justin Raynaud and his father-in-law Monier Firmin refocused on the vineyard in order to develop it further. Claude Raynaud joined the family business in the 1960s.
In the 80s, his son Daniel took over. He bought plots of land in Plan de Dieu and Sablet to continue developing the business. It was during this period that Daniel's son Mathieu joined the estate, and he too contributed to the business by buying vineyards in Sablet and Gigondas to further develop this fine estate. The idea of creating Château la Thébaïde was born in 2015. After some renovation work, the estate's first vinification took place in 2016. In 2019, the estate will convert to the HVE label, having already practiced sustainable agriculture since its creation.
