Whether you’re with family, friends or even on your own, Via Ferrata is a convivial and stimulating activity. Accessible from the minimum height required for the green route, i.e. 1m25 (around 8 years old), it’s ideal for sharing unique moments in the heart of nature.

Did you know? The Via Ferrata du Saint Julien, 1700m long, is one of the longest and most beautiful Via Ferrata in France!

Course discovery : Lanes for everyone!

1.Green Route
  • The green route is ideal for discovering this activity with the whole family. A perfect introduction to the activity, with a course over rock (not totally vertical), a small monkey bridge, beams and rope nets.
    Length: 170m.
    Duration: approx. 1 hour.
    Minimum height 1m25.
    For beginners and families.

2.Voie Grise
  • The last one will arrive in 2023… Difficulty is intermediate between the Verte and the Bleue.
    Length: 300m.
    Duration: approx. 1h30.
    Minimum height 1m35.

3.Blue Way
  • A more athletic, aerial route with numerous vertical passages that require both arms and legs.
    Length: 440m.
    Duration: approx. 2h30.
    Minimum height 1m50.
    For experienced adults and teenagers.

4.Voie Noire
  • A very aerial and physical route, the longest of the 5 Via Ferrata on the Saint Julien. It begins with a vertical wall and then a series of bridges and footbridges over the highest part of the Saint Julien.
    Length: 640m.
    Duration: approx. 3 hours.
    Minimum height 1m60.
    For experienced adults and teenagers.

5.Voie Rouge
  • The route is very aerial and fun, with monkey bridges, Nepalese bridges, beams, suspended ladders and an optional Tyrolean traverse through the wall to finish at the summit at the Croix du Saint Julien.
    Length: 460m.
    Duration: approx. 3 hours.
    Minimum height 1m55.
    For experienced adults and teenagers.

The site is accessible free of charge all year round, subject to favorable weather conditions and suitable equipment (equipment can be rented on site in Buis-les-Baronnies).

Tip: For the best and safest experience, we recommend hiring a professional guide. The guides will advise you and adapt to your wishes, the number of participants, etc.

The Bureau des Guides des Baronnies accompanies you from the equipment to the Via Ferrata in Saint Julien. They can also suggest other routes in Drôme Provençale, such as Motte-Chalançon or Aulan, where you can even discover the castle built on a rocky spur overlooking the Toulourenc valley.

L’accueil spéléologique du platon d’Albion offers Via Ferrata in Aulan and Via Souterrata, as well as canyoning and caving! There’s plenty of adventure to be had in the air, on the water or underground, with introductory courses for children aged 8 and over!
