Petra Noorlander, painter:
Because I love to paint
Sometimes I paint a landscape
Sometimes a still life
Sometimes scenes from my imagination
Sometimes the subject doesn’t come to me
So I go for a walk
and come back full of inspiration
The region is beautiful
and full of poetry
It’s up to you to see if you
can find yourself there
Dieter Schierrenberg, painter:
I was born in 1938. When I turned 18, I worked as a painter in Markiel’s studio in Montparnasse, because I wanted to be an artist in Paris. But alas, my life took a different turn, and for 50 years I ran a specialty bookstore in the natural sciences, dealing in rare books and periodicals, though I continued to paint and draw all that time. At age 70, my wife and I moved to the Drôme region of Provence. Since then, captivated by the beauty and light of the Baronnies, I’ve been painting almost every day—mostly landscapes and still lifes—using gouache or India ink. I am very happy to be exhibiting for the third time at the Chapelle de Mollans, this time alongside Petra Noorlander.
